Merry Christmas and Happy New Years Resolutions

Happy holidays to everyone.  Hope you all had a merry Christmas!

We had a family and close friends day.  We exchanged gifts, but mostly we made memories being our first Christmas as husband and wife.  Boxing day was a little more laid back, with more family visits and today (the day after boxing day) is the first day of total relaxation and eating leftovers.

We decided to take the KISS principal…  keep it simple.  We took salads to family’s houses, hung out with good company, exchanges presents and came home to relax…  The way Christmas was meant to be.  No stress and no fuss.  Now to enjoy the rest of the holidays.  I’ve been reading, catching up on some tv time, we have been back to the gym and just have some relaxation time planned…  The way summer was meant to be spent, the way we spend out summers as kids.  Good company and down time.

Personally I am taking some time enjoying just being home, spending evenings in our yard in the cool breeze and braving the heat in the house during the day.  The interim time before we knuckle down for the year ahead of us.  People starting to make new years resolutions to commence in the 1st, but I try to make mine as I think about them, and act on them now.  Usually our goals are always the same, we just revive them when we weren’t successful.  We plan to eat better, and exercise more next year.  But we can do that today, and tomorrow…  Plan for the present not the future because the future will never be the present.  That’s why I went to the gym today, and I’m going back tomorrow.

About myhousewifelifeblog

I am a nurse by trade, and a traditional "de facto" housewife by nature. Constantly seeking a more organised existence. I like to cook, sew and play my keyboard. I try to keep my house organised but I've not yet mastered this, and I am endeavouring to reach my image of ultimate organisation at home. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'll give it a go.
